Whoa, this is an excellent mesh here Jere! Hi, it's been a lonnng while since our last chat. I hope you are doing well!

What I imagine as I listen to this is a child who walks into his or her room, and finds a creature that's at first intimidating and creepy in appearance. Then the kid finds out the creature means no harm, and they go on an adventure together.

Everything musically is so good, in addition to the FX used. This definitely kept my interest from beginning to end. This is a real treat to hear on the headphones!! Very interesting percussion... I like those reverb flutes, and the constant slow wub that fits to all this wonderful mess of a track you put together. The ending conversation, it kind of took me somewhere a bit different, but it's not a bad ending. =D

Thank you for the review!

This one's another quick favorite of mine that you've done. Love the percussion (so cool) and the Japanese instruments inserted in here! You've inserted quite an assortment in this. Definitely a fusion, one that's a really good listen. I've been listening to some of your tracks today on headphones the entire time. Absolutely not shitty, lol.

I like everything about this one, overall. I'm glad you managed to pull through on completing this despite the computer problems. This would be very cool and interesting for video game soundtrack material. ^_^

TaintedLogic responds:

Wow! Thanks for all the reviews, my friend. Anything can sound Japanese if you use the right scales, haha. I master most of my tracks with headphones, so I think they end up sounding more balanced with headphones. I need to check out your music now - you've just made my day! :D

Very surprising uniqueness for a drum and bass! Yeah, I have to agree with you and another reviewer on this track not being a hard-hitter. Not that it's a bad thing, not at all! Just different in a way that was a good surprise. The percussion in this is awesome, and all the pads and soft synths to go with the types of bass flows great.

You went slightly off key towards the middle, but it doesn't bother me that much. I liked this enough to put it in my list of favorites. Great DnB! There's definitely some wow to it. =D

TaintedLogic responds:

Thank you so much! I worked really hard on that percussion. XD My music does get off key sometimes, but I'm gradually learning to exercise more control over it, haha. I'm honored that I made your list of favorites. Thanks again!

The beginning pads here had me thinking at first, "Oh my, how peaceful and relaxing! I'm guessing the feel behind this is 'Hey, don't worry about what you can't solve. There's always another day.' " Then the voice part came in, so I scrolled down to read your track's description. My next thought; "Oh! Got it. Interesting."

So, I'm listening to this for the second time as I leave my review. I visualize a guy surviving on his own somewhere on a very hot day... I really like the pads you've inserted throughout. Really nice. Also, I'll add that's an interesting choice for a base there. Everything fits nicely.

Ahhh, and now it sounds kinda eerie towards the end. Very good for an ambient piece.

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks so much for the review! I really appreciate your compliments, especially on the mood/theme and instruments. I guess I consider ambient my specialty. You should totally do the next chip contest! There's one going on now: http://www.chipscompo.com/compo/3

I'm not very familiar with the game Portal, so I cannot do a review on that. I'll just do so based on what I heard. I get why you titled it that way. With this Glados character, I imagined something kind of naughty was going on. lol. The arranging of the voice clips alongside the funkay music is all good.

Nice track.

LexRodent responds:

Thanks for listening SFJ.
I rearranged some voice acting (mainly from the final showdown of the game) to give it that naughty context, just as a silly experiment.

Everything fits real good in here. That low growly bass to go with the high pitched chimes give it a darkness to the happy-twinkly stars imagery of yours I agree with. Nice!

LexRodent responds:

I had to do this piece on a time limit, and couldn't find any good idea for an additional line.
Heavily contrasting sounds seemed like a good solution, nice to know it worked.

Cool. Sounds like something you'd hear in an NES western themed game - well, at least in my honest opinion.

This loops pretty good. I didn't notice anything off here. Cool that NG featured this one recently. :D

LexRodent responds:

Yes, it has a western vibe on it as well as some oriental motifs.
It was a nice surprise to get a feature, specially between all those nice tracks.

Sweet guitar and bass! The drums don't drown out that goodness, and that's great!! Moody, with UMPH. Wonderful job, Lexa. ^_^

LexRodent responds:

Getting the drums "on place" without losing punch, was one of the hard parts.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for listening.

There's an interesting heartbeat like percussion going on here, and the piano here is lovely. If only this were longer... This is a very nice track, Panda. Keep on experimenting and improving! :)

Pandasticality responds:

heartbreak was the motive somewhat for making this song originally, i love piano music, really gets to me heh n__n; thank you for the review!

I saw the vid and heard the track. Wow, that's just amazing! Did you just do the music for the video, or...?

You're very good at producing cinematic music. I'm surprised this track hasn't received any reviews before this one!

Chemiqals responds:

Yeah, I edited the video and created the music! Well, rearranged is more accurate. The song itself is a rearrangement of the theme from The Last of Us. Pieces of it are entirely original and the composition is pretty different from anything in the game, but it's not an original piece.

Glad you liked it!
