Hi VGM. This is me, catching up and listening to a track or two I haven't heard by you yet.

I like the string-like synths you've used here. It's definitely dancey. It could be used for any occasion, not just during holidays. It's so upbeat! I can tell you had loads of fun putting this together. Nice job.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's this I hear? 8-bit and orchestra blended together?! I've never heard anything like this before, and it all worked great for this arrangement! This sounds so unique and fresh.

Flawless transition after flawless transition. I can't imagine how much time you put into this! Wow, this is amazing.

Step responds:

Oh god this made me feel so great about the track haha. I feel like I don't experiment as much as I used to with music so hearing that my little chiptune orchestra combo wasn't an absolute disaster is awesome.

Thanks!

In reading one of your earlier responses in another review, I totally get the James Bond influence behind this song! The female singers who contributed their parts have some serious talent! Congratulations to them both.

I notice percussion improvement! Also, all the other instruments sound so good and professional. Everything blends and fits like a glove.

I honestly have nothing but praise to input here, towards this gem. It's nothing short among your greatest of tracks! Bravo!

Step responds:

SFJ! Long time no see!

Thrilled to hear that you like it enough to call it one of my greatest tracks. I wanted to make this track as good as I could possibly make it, because it's part of the soundtrack of one of my favourite games ever.

Thanks for dropping by. c:

Very nice and amusing. Pretty good for a Dalek voice impression!

I could actually imagine Chris Redfield typing all this up into a blog entry at Livejournal, or Dreamwidth. I was grinning as I was listening to this. It could have been better with other voices and sound effects. The music in the background is pretty cool.

Loved the way it was introduced, with that gravely voice in announcing what this parody was about. lol

Animaniacs! Listening to this both got me chuckling and feeling nostalgic at once. Brilliant voice acting. Well done. :D

Not bad for your musical debut! The composition is very nice, though what I think you can do to improve here is to have a gradual increase of the volume to make this track have more of a dynamic touch.

The more you do music, the more you'll learn and develop the skill!

CGA-999 responds:

Thanks! I'll try to work on those dynamics.

This is so dark, and cinematic. I think this would fit better in the cinematic genre than in the Ambient. :)

Creepy synths and atmospheric sounds! The talking voices is a nice touch. All I can think of to suggest is to add a bit more depth. Try taking a break from that high pitched strings synth to give another instrument a lead melody.

Overall I'm sure this had to be a blast to experiment with and put together!

LexRodent responds:

Thanks for your feedback dudette.
Giving a break to the strings and exchange them for something deeper sounds like a great idea, and that will give a more cinematic "vibe" to this track indeed.

Cool! You made an 8-bit version of one of my fave FF7 tracks of all time (seriously, I have it as my current ringtone), and you did it well!

Not bad at all CM!

It's been a long time since I played this game, although I remember this song. You did a nice rendition of this, retro style. The notes sound nice and not off pitch. Good job.

I'm a writer and free thinker who is determined to help influence major good change to spread! Peace is only possible in the absence of aggression. (I also have done music stuff.)
